  • Center your inner knowing through your body’s wisdom, rather than the story in your mind.

  • Enjoy a space of empathy and compassion, rather than pathologization.

The cost of not being connected with your body is deprivation. A real hunger that cannot be truly satisfied

my approach to somatics

Sōma is Greek for “body”. Somatic practices exist in all cultures and as a therapy, provide pathways back into your innate knowing.

I practice a method of somatic therapy called Hakomi. This method centers you as the expert of your experience and myself as the attentive, compassionate guide, noticing and pointing out what often goes unnoticed. You and I then work together to study the experience, acknowledge outdated core beliefs, how we keep at bay what we most desire and see what new possibilities may be available to you in your present life.*

With mindful awareness, we can take a closer look and decide how we can move towards a deeper sense of wholeness. I use my innately-gifted sensitive, calm presence to create that container with you. My goal is to hold loving space for your process and walk alongside you as you learn to listen to the wisdom of your body.

I also bring my knowledge of holistic health into my sessions. I am very much interested in how each person forms their own microcosm and extends out into their family, culture and our universe. I particularly enjoy helping folks feel more embodied and a greater sense of agency to lead their lives.

After sessions, people often feel less tension in their bodies, more clarity about behavioral patterns and belief systems, more compassion towards their experience, more resilience and a sense of “connecting the dots”.

* If you have less experience with somatic work/mindfulness, we may spend more time talking at first, increasing mindful exploration as we build trust and safety. Each client’s sessions will adapt to meet the needs of the individual. As with most healing modalities, more than a few sessions are needed to affect meaningful change.

It is important to note that I am not a licensed mental health provider, registered dietitian or medical doctor. I am not qualified to diagnose and treat any medical or psychological conditions. Any and all advice/suggestions are simply suggestions and invitations.
